Methodist Home Skatepark
This skatepark has been here for years! This is Charlotte's original free skatepark. It's supposed to cost $1 on the weekends but they don't ever charge you anymore. The park is a lot of fun to skate, everything flows really well, and it's a great place to learn. Come out on any night after 6PM and there is sure to be a session going down, and you might even see some of the local legends tearing it up. The park was built on an old tennis court, so the ground is really smooth. The ramps are all metal, so be careful on a hot day, they burn! The park really has something for everyone to skate, 6ft halfpipe, 6 foot quarter pipes all around, a steep 6 foot bank with a big hip, a launch ramp with a box, a flat bar across the melow pyramid, a steep pyramid with a box going across it, and of course, the 8 ft roll in. The park does require full pads, which is a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads. You can just cover up your knees with pants though and they wont say anything about pads, same with elbows if you wear a swearshirt. This is a great park to skate, so be sure to check it out!
